Pin Grading Policy

Every pin is unique! Every enamel pin is manufactured by hand, therefore, not every pin will look perfect and slight flaws may occur.

Please read below how I personally grade my pins. When you are selecting your grade it is important you are aware of the flaws that may occur.

A-grade pins (standard)

A-grade pins are the best of the batch and the highest quality pins I offer. 

Close to perfect but may still exhibit minor imperfections not visible at first glance, and are mostly only visible under certain light and angles. These could be minor flaws such as:

Small scratches or scuffs on surface and on printing

Small pores/bubbles or small specks dust on enamel

Slight low fill/overfill

Slight discoloration

Tiny area with a miss-colour, in an area that isn't the focal point.

Slight wiggle on post (stress tested to ensure the posts wont fall off).

B-grade pins

B-grade pins seem fine at first glance, but under close inspection you can see some minor imperfections. These are perfect for people that don't need a mint condition pin, but just really want the design or want to wear the pin.

They can have flaws such as:

Scratches or chips in the metal or the paint

Large/multiple specs of dust, small paint splatter or air bubbles embedded in the paint

Small areas of underfilled or missing paint

Discoloration of metal or enamel

Gaps of missing paint or wrong colour paint

Wiggle on post (stress tested to ensure the posts wont fall off)

C-grade pins

C-grade pins have more noticable imperfections than B-Grade pins. 

B & C-grade pins are non-refundable or returnable.

Shipping, Lost Items and Packaging

SHIPPING

Please allow us up to a week to prepare, package and post your order. Orders are dropped at the post office once a week on average.

Please note if you do not select tracked shipping your order will be sent out standard post. It will not have a tracking number.

Please note your order is coming from the UK. Postage estimate is 4-6 weeks as per standard US postal service. (usually quicker).

LOST ITEMS

If your item is lost in the post & you have not selected tracked shipping unfortunately we will not be able to refund you. We may be able to send a replacement dependant on stock and cost but this is up to seller discretion.

If your order is expensive please ensure you select tracked shipping as orders over £15 that do not have tracked shipping will not be refunded/replaced in any circumstance.

If you have selected standard shipping there will be no tracking number.

PACKAGING

We try to keep recyclability and be as eco-conscious as we can.

Most pins are packed in glassine bags which are free from coatings and dyes and 100% naturally biodegradable.

Prints are packed in 30Mic PLA Compostable Film and a cardboard mailer.

Compostable film is biodegradable and compostable which means that they break down to CO2, H2O and biomass which can then be reused in the eco system to make new plants. This will happen in either in home or commercial composting but in commercial composting the temperature will be higher and the process is much quicker. In a colder home composter it will just take longer.

In July 2024 we have started to make the switch to paper and cardboard mailers for pins. These are on a trial to make sure they work to get orders to destinations safely. If you have any issues with these please send a photo to maidfetishes@gmail.com

Duties & Tariffs

DUTIES AND TARIFFS

If you are ordering from outside the UK, your country may charge import duties, taxes, or customs fees on your purchase. These charges are set by your local government and vary depending on the destination country, the value of the goods, and local regulations.

As the buyer, you are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees that may apply to your order. These charges are not included in the price of your purchase or shipping cost and must be paid directly to your country's customs office.

As a small business, I do not have control over these charges, and they are determined by your local customs authorities. If you are unsure about possible fees, I recommend checking with your local customs office before placing an order.

If you choose not to pay the import duties or customs fees, your package may be returned to me or held by customs. In the case of a return, I can only issue a refund for the item cost (excluding shipping) once I receive it back in its original condition. If the package is not returned, I am unable to offer a refund.

USA TARIFFS APRIL 2025

Due to the new de minimis tariff policy, all parcels with items with origins from China (mainly enamel pins and keychains) may be subject to the higher tariffs starting soon.

As a small business, this is a huge challenge and I’m truly sorry for the impact on anyone ordering from the US. I really appreciate your continued support and understanding during this horrible period.

Refunds

We have a 14-day return policy, which means once your item is delivered you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

To start a return, you can contact me at maidfetishes@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, you will need to return the item at your own cost.

DAMAGES AND ISSUES

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that I can evaluate the issue and make it right.

EXCEPTIONS/NON RETURNABLE

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on Grade B items.

EXCHANGES

We do not accept exchanges.

REFUNDS

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Cancellations

Where appropriate be happy to cancel your order if it has not been shipped out.

As a small business cancellations are not common and we hope that you are always delighted with your decision to support us. But we are of course aware that things happen which may impact the decision to spend funds on art and luxuries.

To avoid serial cancellations that can impact our business if you cancel more than one order across any of our platforms in a 6-month period then you will be banned from further purchases either on this website or Etsy.

Where can you ship?

What about tariffs and shipping to the US?

Due to the new de minimis tariff policy, all parcels with items with origins from China (mainly enamel pins and keychains) may be subject to the higher tariffs starting soon.

This is such a volatile and messy state to be in. I am holding on to hope that something is put in place to help small businesses like me. If tariffs are imposed on pins like this I will likely loose my business as the US is my largest customer base.

How discreet is packaging?

Orders are packed with pink, white and black shipping materials. I use my own design of washi tape which sometimes does include busts of women. Some of the washi tape does also include my brand name.

Shipping labels and tape may have my business name on.

If there is a sale please add on a week to the processing time. I am one person packing things but try to get everything out in a timely manner.
